Insurance Companies are requiring Building Owners to conduct Infrared Thermographic Electrical Surveys of all electrical distribution systems on site

as per NFPA 70B.

In 2023, NFPA70B makes mandatory for Commercial and Industrial sites the inspection of ALL electrical equipment at least every 12 months, with equipment that meets the Equipment Physical Condition 3 requiring thermographic inspection at least every 6 months. Condition 3 includes equipment where urgent actions were identified in previous scans along with certain other circumstances.

NFPA 70B is a key document that drives electrical safety choices in the USA, including methods of electrical inspection, what kinds of equipment should or must be inspected, and who is qualified to inspect. It is important for companies in the USA to review this document and to incorporate the updated standards into their work practices.

James Yaeger Holds a Level III Certified Infrared Thermography Certification from the country's leading Thermography Institute as well as an Accredited ACAC Certification. The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) is pleased to announce that its Council-certified Environmental Thermography Consultant (CETC) designation has been accredited by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). CESB is a nationally recognized, independent accreditation body founded in 1991 to provide standards for engineering-related certification programs. CESB-accredited programs must follow strict guidelines for integrity and independence in their policies and operations. CESB accreditation is a mark of superior quality and distinguishes well known certification marks. The ACAC's Council programs employ psychometrically rated examinations that test industry knowledge and also require verified field experience of each certification candidate. Council certifications are board-awarded by a nationwide panel of industry peers for a period of two years, after which each certificant must undergo a rigorous recertification process. CESB accreditation is the latest evidence that ACAC certifications continue to set the standard in the industry for integrity, credibility and independence.
